O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon his love; for ye may, if your minds are firm, forever.
We can be fed continually by the love of God, provided we are firm in our determination to follow him and listen to his words. The word "firm" is repeated in two verses. Firmness is the key to having power with God. If we wait on him no matter what and refuse to be shaken loose from our faith in the face of the most bitter trials, he cannot resist us.
