And he that will contend against the word of the Lord, let him be accursed; and he that shall deny these things, let him be accursed; for unto them will I show no greater things, saith Jesus Christ; for I am he who speaketh.
We argue against the word of the Lord when we reject the revelations of the prophets and refuse the prompting of the Holy Spirit. In such an attitude we are cursed by the natural vicissitudes of mortality without the help and strength of grace. God does not punish us, he simply withholds his help, and without it, life is much harder than it has to be.
