Yea, blessed is this people who are willing to bear my name; for in my name shall they be called; and they are mine.
When we covenant to bear the name of Christ through baptism, we identify with him. We become as much like him as we can. Through his grace and because of his atonement, we develop Christ-like attributes until, eons from now, we become indistinguishable from him. We will be called by his name and we will not be ashamed to answer to it. Just as children carry the family name of their father, so we as children of Christ will carry his name.
