Alma 23:14
And the Amalekites were not converted, save only one; neither were any of the Amulonites; but they did harden their hearts, and also the hearts of the Lamanites in that part of the land wheresoever they dwelt, yea, and all their villages and all their cities.
We should choose our friends carefully. Be familiar with all, but be careful about those we keep closest to us. When everyone around us thinks and acts a certain way, it is hard to go against the tide. They seem right simply because they in the majority, and we may be cut off from other points of view. Of course, it works both ways. We surround ourselves with good people and their goodness rubs off. Ultimately it is not their fault, however. We make the choice, and we reap the consequences. Everything in our lives leads back to agency.
