Alma 26:28
And now behold, we have come, and been forth amongst them; and we have been patient in our sufferings, and we have suffered every privation; yea, we have traveled from house to house, relying upon the mercies of the world—not upon the mercies of the world alone but upon the mercies of God.
Doing the Lord's will does not exempt us from trials. Ammon and his missionary companions were doing exactly what God wanted them to do, and they were totally faithful and obedient, and they still had difficult problems in their lives. An easy life is not a sign of righteousness nor are troubles a sign of unrighteousness or that God hates us. In some cases they are in fact a sign that we are on the right track.
