Alma 56:5
Therefore it sufficeth me that I tell you that two thousand of these young men have taken their weapons of war, and would that I should be their leader; and we have come forth to defend our country.
The stripling warriors chose a prophet and priesthood leader to be their military commander. It mattered not that he was not a seasoned fighting man or that he lacked military experience. For people of faith, the first concern about a leader is his faith. If he believes God can and will direct him, every other deficiency can be overcome.
