Mosiah 15:27
Therefore ought ye not to tremble? For salvation cometh to none such; for the Lord hath redeemed none such; yea, neither can the Lord redeem such; for he cannot deny himself; for he cannot deny justice when it has its claim.
Those who know the truth and rebel against it, who knowingly turn their backs on the Savior and refuse his mercy, will face justice. They can receive only justice because they refuse mercy. Their sins are not necessarily any more grievous than the rest of ours, but they will not allow Christ to pay for them. It seems like such a foolish choice, but they are nevertheless free to make it. God will force no one to accept the gift of mercy.
