And it came to pass that they did humble themselves before the Lord; insomuch that I had joy and great hopes of them, that they would walk in the paths of righteousness.
At this point Laman and Lemuel are not past feeling or redemption. But the more often they repent and then sin again, the harder they become and the less likely they are to repent again. Trifling with sin and repentance is spiritually lethal.
