And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the pointers which were in the ball, that they did work according to the faith and diligence and heed which we did give unto them.
We cannot force the spirit to work for us. It is a delicate balance. We must diligently listen and obey all the time. And we must act in faith when we think we get instruction. We learn the language of the Spirit through trial and error. With experience, we eventually get it.
