Laman and Lemuel are the poster children for dimwitted stubbornness! Their repentance was always fervent but short lived. They never changed their lives. Their momentary remorse never reached deep enough to lead to conversion. They never instituted regular, sincere prayer, scripture study, church attendance, and daily repentance, which invite the Holy Spirit and lead to true conversion. Thus the slightest stone of trial or weed of doubt sent them into instant apostasy. They never "got it" about faith because they never reached for it. They were never willing to be responsible agents. They always saw themselves as victims. How sad!
