They wear stiff necks and high heads; yea, and because of pride, and wickedness, and abominations, and whoredoms, they have all gone astray save it be a few, who are the humble followers of Christ; nevertheless, they are led, that in many instances they do err because they are taught by the precepts of men.
We are all susceptible to being led into error. Thus we must be ever vigilant and test everything we hear by the scriptures and the words of the living prophet. If we don't know the scriptures and the prophets, it is easy to be led astray. Thus Satan is anxious for us to stop studying the scriptures and stop attending church. Once we lose our compass, he can turn us in any direction he chooses, and we won't be able to detect the misdirection.
